Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond The Myth (I)
Assigning everyone elaborate personalities is way more fun when you can VN-ize them, don’t’cha think? It took me quite a while to actually start to enjoy Etrian Odyssey IV, not going to lie. I got the game in 2014, I believe? And it’s been slow going. The Ruby Tear Guild was an idea I thought was fun, so let’s see how it pans out.
There's a DEMO. I lost my shit and grabbed my 3ds as fast as I could.
This is my first time even attempting a fantasy series, let alone this Etrian series, but I love this game so much that I'm going to buy after only one day of playing the demo. But I like your style of commenting too, it's very natural, so I'm subscribing as well.
My first Etrian Odyssey game was Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold The Fafnir Knight and it was fun
Rover is not a front line class. XD
Alright, I'm gonna start watching this now. I was a little worried you'd stop playing this after a while, and I hadn't gotten that far in my own game either. Now I'm in the fourth stratum, so I figured I could watch this now. I'm stuck, too.. 😛
Anyway, I love this series. I've played pretty much all of them, but only ever beat the two Untold games. I wanna go back and beat all the others at some point, especially EO4 and this one. EO4 is currently my favorite, but this one is real close from what I played so far. I love the adventurous feeling you get from these games, exploring the maze and overcoming tough challenges.
It'll be fun to see how you deal with everything this game has to throw at you, especially since you only played EO4 previously.
I'm excited for this playthrough. 😀
Heeey, you're making your own party conversations? Genious! 😀
Man, Rover is a really good class. I am working on a hound build with animal therapy because it's really good at healing.
24:30 I was leaving it on in the background but I am glad you are having that much fun
advanced difficulty only for me, basic is too easy after beating EOIV, EOU1 and 2 both on expert and now this on advanced…truly worthy , but this one was …easier tbh…
oh i really like the little party talk thing you did i always love imagining my characters just interacting with each other
Personally, what I like to do with every EO game is simple: take the characters from the box art (this gets complicated for Etrian Odyssey, Millennium Girl Classic Mode, and Nexus), and get that party to clear the map trial, and THEN fill out the rest of the guild with at least one of every class.
In V however, there's an extra caveat-all quests are done by a second squad modeled off the memetic Conrad's Freeblade Guild (got a few guild cards, so no Conrad…or Kincaid. Oh well).
During all that, I try to imagine what they're demeanor is like, what kind of character they are, and if they're recurring, any character development that happened.
Little late on this but you should totally finish EO4! The game is absolutely great~ got me into the series
No voices? Pity. Because you could have a certain amount of fun with a number of them. Villainous in males is fun (“Ready, bastards?!”). Sassy and Sultry in the female choices are a hoot (in the case of the latter, because of the looks you’re sure to get whenever the character goes “Sooo gooood!”❤️ At least, if you play in public.).
Edit: And yes, I’m well aware this comment is super late. Doesn’t mean I can’t share it, give others ideas.
