the most tested trail they'relike really everyone tried to have theirbest time thereand it's crazy if people actuallyachieve new best times nowadaysWatch at: 01:40 / 02:00after like a year thousands of peopletried itso that's crazy that's good runi'm not sure how many people actuallyplayed this first trailer it should beat least half a million or more so yeahlet's players not runsWatch at: 02:00 / 02:20that's nice it's um so they took liketwo kinds of shortcuts in the gamethere are few shortcuts we intended butlike ninety percent of the speed runsactually are doing like these crazythings no one really thought ofthat they're actually doable so this atWatch at: 02:20 / 02:40the start here is still likeintended way and yeahi wonder how he'll play because umthose not intended shortcuts are veryrisky andcrashing a lot during the speed run likethis you running the whole gamewill cost you a lot of time so yeahWatch at: 02:40 / 03:00how many of these risky shortcuts i meanthings like what he did just therethat's like not intended at all actuallythe whole thing was designed orthings like that like it's not intendedit was designed that peopleshould go the other way around and theyare still finding like all theseshortcuts oh his first crashWatch at: 03:00 / 03:20yeah but it didn't cost much timebut i think he's not cutting the crasheshe's really like having one runsthat's also really impressive yeah yeahsometimes you can see he's uh ridinga little bit slowly and carefuli actually don't think there are manyseconds you can gain on that trail imean even if you're just going forWatch at: 03:20 / 03:40like the sections you even have reallygood section timeshe knows exactly which bike to take forWatch at: 03:40 / 04:00which trailoh okay oh well i know that makes sensei mean if you think about like you knowhow long did ittook you to like decorate the mountainyeah well it depends on on trade ofcourse some trails areWatch at: 04:00 / 04:20small ones and thoughts are pretty longbutthey create one trail maybe yeah ofcourse more thana few days i guess sothe the first part i decorate everythingand then iplaying the game a lot and checking ifWatch at: 04:20 / 04:40it's working ohyeah well um skipping everything like wenever thought of theseum we call it desktops umthey're now pretty concerning amongspeedrunners but we never ever thoughtthat this is doableso if you like hit the finish lineWatch at: 04:40 / 05:00at the exact so if you die on the finishline umthen you can continue and like in idon't know in like three years oftesting and close beta runs and we had akickstarter community testing the gameno one really did that like not in thatextentand now it's just like very common thingfor speedrunners to doWatch at: 05:00 / 05:20i mean basically what happens is if youfall down from aboveyou first hit the trigger which triggersthe checkpointand then you actually hit the ground soit's a one or two frames delaywhich yeah make that make that sectioncountumWatch at: 05:20 / 05:40so you can see it's like 4.5 secondsslower than thebest section time sothere is still some room for improvementat least on some sectionsyeah but thenWatch at: 05:40 / 06:00i mean if you look at like section besttimes i mean for all these sections theyhave like 3000 crashes or somethingjust like to really get the sectionperfectlyand he's he's pretty close to the besttimes and he's justdoing it without crashes in one run andi personally think thatWatch at: 06:00 / 06:20that's even more impressive than thesethese action types especially i mean tolook atif you look at these like section typesof people try over and over and overagainand here's just like very he's totallyin the flowy so it's justone smooth runscare checkpoint i think this is one ofWatch at: 06:20 / 06:40my favorite trails actually because itwas like thei think it was our second public trailerwe shot at gamescomat least of the final trails herewe shot a few work in progress trails orlike not work in progress buttrails which never actually made it toWatch at: 06:40 / 07:00the final gamebefore but and this is like the that'sone ofthe trails where we had like 500 000people playing at gamescom and it'sreally niceto see that like nothing can go wrong atone point i thought okay i've seeneverything about it like everyevery possible combination and then youWatch at: 07:00 / 07:20have the speed runner coming inand it's just crazy yeah i think we hadour firstspeed running contest on that trailright gamescom 2018 or somethingwhat i really like about this speech runis it's a it's a perfect combinationof like risk versus rewardWatch at: 07:20 / 07:40so he for some reasons he takes someslower shortcutsbut he knows he can do them 100 percentso he's not trying the totally crazystuffbut like he's perfectly controlled forthe shortcuts he just keeps doing we'reWatch at: 07:40 / 08:00laughing because the bridgealways is a risky part even if it's onthe main trainhe's so much better than meat least this last part do you guysstill havelike a rank in the top hundred because iWatch at: 08:00 / 08:20checkedlike months ago and i have no top 100rank anymore and i played the sure i mean normally i would saywhat's like the average time for trailif people try probably around 20 minutesit's like all the crashes until theyreally get to the endi mean like when they play a new way ohyeah okay that was probably worth evenWatch at: 21:40 / 22:00with three crashes yesyeah but if he's like this is like theonly real glitchhe used up until this point i mean thedesktop staythey are kind of fair game becauseit's just the way the system works butglitching throughthrough the tunnel that's actually usingWatch at: 22:00 / 22:20a bug in the gamewhich you cannot fix because that wouldmean we would have to reset all theleaderboardsi am crashing all the time in the tunnelWatch at: 22:20 / 22:40lighter more but on this mountain itseems to be using a lot ofshortcuts that were I love this series and I’ve never played any of the games that are a part of it. Very entertaining though.
I always go downhill mountain biking with a VR headset attached to a drone flying backwards so I can see where I am coming from better than I can see what’s ahead. I.e, This game is insane.

This is what speed running is about, the deva made a comment about how he needs to know every rock in the game, and that’s so true. Speed runners are some of the most appreciative people towards video games and I think that these guys realize that

so the lesson Im learning here, is that if you want your game to be truly bug free, hire speedrunners to test it for you, cause they will try everything to break the game and do it faster lol

tbh this game is totally underrated. Its so relaxing to jump on to lonely mountains after raging at a Fifa match. The amount of detail in the level design is very thorough and there is even dev support to this day.

if you've never played this game, it's insanely hard to not crash. This speedrun is insane
For me the only acceptable speedruns in this game is the free ride. Checkpoints are lame and crashing into them intentionally is just proving me right.
